Grade 3 Curriculum
Hebrew
The students will review the Aleph-Bet letters and vowel sounds, and the Hebrew cursive writings learned the previous year. Emphasis will be on reading stories and play games to build vocabulary and improve fluency of reading, comprehension and expressions. Some of the concepts to be introduced include masculine/feminine genders, numbers 1-20, numbers by 10 to 100, colours, weather climates, months and seasons, classroom vocabulary, common questions, Israeli Anthem.

Traditions
The children will learn the traditions of the major Jewish holidays, the customs and their practices through reading stories and poems, playing games , singing songs and performing crafts and class projects. They will also learn some ritual recitations for daily or special events; i.e. prayers over wine, bread, Shabbat, and selected holidays.

History
The early history and cultural development of Jewish ancestry and belief system are continuing to be explored via stories and characters as revealed during the Biblical period. The students will use a workbook that will assist further understanding of the text and its associated value system.
