Grade 1 Curriculum

Hebrew

Grade one students will broaden their knowledge of the Hebrew language and will recognize all the Aleph-Bet letters and the vowels. They would know, print and recite the Hebrew letters by the end of the year. They will develop and master early reading of a wide range of new Hebrew words. Traditions

In addition to appreciating the major Jewish holidays customs and practices, the children will also be introduced to early History and culture through Biblical stories, Hebrew songs, art and crafts of Jewish symbols pertinent to the Calendar and dance. Texts: My Synagogue, Tzedakah.
